We’ve updated the Paykit Cloud onboarding process. Now, after signing up, users see not an empty dashboard, but a clear three-step path to their first sale.

What’s changed

  • The “Getting Started” section. This isn’t a pop-up window or a temporary setup wizard — it’s a separate, permanent section of the dashboard with a progress bar and three steps. Users can leave at any point and come back later — progress is saved.
  • Sign-up data is filled in automatically. The company name becomes the name of the point of sale, and the user’s name becomes the name of the first employee. Currency, tax rates, tax groups, and price levels are created in advance, before the first login.

Three steps to a sale

  • Creating a product — the product form opens right away, without an empty table. Required fields: product group, name, product type, tax group, unit of measure, and price. Hints under the fields explain what to fill in and why.
  • Creating a cashier workstation — the name is pre-filled (“Register 1”), and the point of sale is filled in automatically. Additional settings (stock control, buyer’s age, etc.) can be configured later.
  • Connecting the POS app — a connection code and QR code are generated immediately on screen. The code is valid for 15 minutes; a new one can be requested if needed.

After completing all three steps, the user sees a final screen and is ready to accept payments in the POS app.

What this gives users

  • Fewer clicks. Required actions are reduced to the minimum needed for the first sale.
  • No blockers. Users can enter the dashboard and work in other sections without finishing setup.
  • No lost progress. If a product or workstation was already created another way, that step is automatically marked as complete.
  • Hints only when needed. Explanations and video links are shown only during the first pass — after that, the interface stays clean.

Conclusion

The goal of this update is to cut the time from sign-up to first sale down to 10 minutes and remove unnecessary decisions at the start. The structure of the product and workstation forms hasn't changed — only hints have been added on top of the familiar interface.
